GREG BIFFLE
LOOKING TO A NEW HORIZON
Greg Biffle comes to Winston Cup with some very impressive credentials. He has won Championships in both the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the NASCAR Busch Series. He now drives the #16 Grainger Ford as a member of Roush Racing. He is currently 2nd in the Rookie of the Year standings. He won that honor in both the Truck and Busch series and should he win that contest in Winston Cup, he would be the only driver to do so.
We caught up with Greg in Dover after morning practice. He was open and friendly as he chatted with us. Greg is a very easygoing guy who loves to be outdoors. He will usually go hunting or fishing on his days off. His favorite vacation spot is Mexico. He and his Dad have a boat they like to take out fishing there.
If you would like to invite Greg over for dinner, he would enjoy a casual cookout with hamburgers and steaks on the grill. He likes all kinds of music from country to Kid Rock. Greg is especially fond of his boxer, Foster. When Greg is at the track, he likes to relax and watch TV.
Greg appreciates everything NASCAR has done for him. He has been able to purchase land in the mountains in North Carolina where he can get away to enjoy Nature.
Greg has a lot of respect for everyone who has helped him since his move to Winston Cup. He says, you may not realize it, but Jeff Gordon is a great guy who is very knowledgeable and has talked with him a lot about the different tracks they go to. Of course, his teammate, Mark Martin, spends a lot of time working with him and sharing invaluable information about the cars. Greg talks to a lot of crew chiefs that help him as well.
Greg looks back to his first Busch win at Nashville as his best race so far. But he looks forward
to his first Winston Cup win and the hope for a Winston Cup Championship. We wish him the best of
luck in the future.
