FUNNY BUT FOCUSED

He makes us laugh in those silly "Stacker Two" commercials. We're always looking forward to what will happen to him next. But, Kenny Wallace is deeply serious when he prepares for a race. The one thing he thinks about most is winning a Winston Cup race.

Everyone waiting in line at one of Kenny's appearances is treated to his happy-go-lucky attitude. He tells numerous funny stories that keep everyone entertained while they are waiting to get his autograph. People are drawn to Kenny by his easy style. Everyone leaves with a smile on their face.

Talking with Kenny was a real joy. He has unlimited energy that is contagious. Kenny told us that he usually stays in his RV at the track all weekend. He says its easier to stay there than to fight the traffic trying to get in and out. He will occasionally take a helicopter to the airport after a race.

Kenny's favorite meal is simple. He likes pork chops, macaroni and cheese, corn and sweet tea. His favorite movie is "The Green Mile". He enjoys listening to music by Patsy Cline. But he's not just a country boy as his favorite bands are Aerosmith and Nelly. He feels the song that best describes his life is "What's Going On" by 4 Non Blondes.

Kenny likes to be at home in St. Louis with his family. He has a German Shepard named Ellie and 2 cats. The cats belong to his wife says Kenny, "I don't like them much, they get hair all over". When he goes on vacation, Kenny prefers The Bahamas.

Most of the charities Kenny donates to include children and leukemia. Every Christmas, he and his wife pick a needy family in the St. Louis area. They buy them Christmas gifts and provide them with a complete meal. The best part for him is that the family doesn't know who gives them the wonderful Christmas.

When I asked Kenny about the track he liked the most, he said Richmond and Bristol. Both tracks have a lot of character and they each have 3 grooves that allow for a lot of passing.

We hope to see Kenny in the winners circle in 2004.
